How do you search for respondents, or where do you take them from?
Our recruitment specialists use a mix of methods tailored to the needs of the project at hand: RRS database (>50k respondents), RRS integrated recruitment panel, thematic forums / communities, snowball sampling method, offline search etc.
How do you filter out “professional” (abusive) respondents?
We use RRS Blacklist function, which applies automatically to every new recruit. This automated check is being further augmented by manual control of the respondent interactions history kept in RRS database. The recruitment specialist has access to all the profile information provided by respondent at all times, including when exactly that respondent participated in research before. With all the data being checked it’s getting much harder for an abusive respondent to trick the recruitment specialist.
Why do you incentivize respondents?
Rusopros Marketing Agency upholds the ICC/ESOMAR international code on Market, Opinion and Social Research and Data Analytics, including agency’s responsibilities to data subjects, and corresponding ethical practices established in the industry. Respondents spend their personal time for the interview, as well as about 1,5 hours for the trip on average. The size of incentives may vary and depend on the factor of personal interest in research participation (e.g. if a person would have dreamed of visiting the agency’s office, then it may have served as an incentive all by itself).
Why using freelance recruiters is not a good idea?
Non-staff personnel quite often is not concerned with their reputation enough, and regarding obvious difficulties in control of their work, it’s prone to violation of recruitment standards (e.g. talking respondents into participation against the requirements, publication of project recruitment specifications in the open etc.) All such problems are easily avoided when using regular staff, applying properly organized business processes (respondent confirmation, guidelines) and double control of recruitment.
Why don’t recruited respondents always appear for the interview as agreed?
It’s only human nature to break promises from time to time, so partial turnout is a norm. Within the industrial level of expectations, failure to appear in up to 30% of recruited respondents is considered normal. However, in case of Rusopros the number is around 12% on average (2017-2018, RRS data).
How fast do you find respondents?
Finding target respondents usually takes from 2 days for a mass-segment to 4-5 working days for segments of higher difficulty (hard-to-reach).
What is considered severe violations of recruitment standards?
One of the most severe violations would be to publish respondent requirements in the open, which is what many freelance recruiters do. E.g. if we require owners of Citroen cars for our survey, it is unacceptable to inform potential recruits about that. We can only state that we seek car owners without disclosing “the right” brand (Citroen) required to participate in the research, so we use an open question beforehand in order to find out which brand of a car that potential recruit owns.
